At Mighty Oaks Little Acorns we have three main rooms: Rising 2's, Rising 3's and a Pre-school room.
Rising 2's room
A calm and relaxing room with access to our outdoor area.
Rising 3's room
An exciting room where children can explore and investigate.
An exciting room with activities to support and challenge childrens development.
In addition to our three main rooms, we also have a fabulous dinning room where the children and staff have snack and lunch together.
We also have a fabulous cosy storytelling room. Stories are a powerful learning tool for children if all ages. Storytelling isn’t about reading books, retelling traditional tales or even adapting a well-known story, it’s about developing children’s creativity and giving them the skills to confidently share made-up stories based on their interests and the things that are familiar to them. The environment plays a crucial role in storytelling. To enable children to make stories they need:
A safe space – which allows them to engage at their own pace and lets them watch until they feel comfortable enough to join in.
To be child led – we listen to children’s suggestions and use props that they’re interested in to create stories.
To be fun – we encourage them to have lots of fun bringing the stories to life with silly voices, actions, songs and model enthusiasm for storytelling.
Children are far more creative than adults. Their stories may be made in to a book or acted out to the other children, this helps them feel their stories are valued. By celebrating and supporting children’s storytelling in this way, they become more confident, articulate, empathetic and creative, which provides strong foundations for learning.
We have a fabulous safe, secure outdoor area that surrounds our building.
Wellbeing meaning - the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy.
